Friday 14th July saw our first University Challenge competition between staff and sixth form students. This had been organised by the some of the prefect team and comprised of 5 different rounds with 5 questions in each round. There were three sixth form students taking on three members of staff who were the experts in that area, and the teams changed after each round. Students in year 7 and 8 were invited to spectate the event and a lot of fun was had by all. There was a good competitive spirit taken up by all the competitors and some strong knowledge shown. The students took a strong lead winning both the History and Science rounds, the Maths round was a very close and impressive round, but the teachers came out strongly with their general knowledge and their ability to finish the lyrics to a variety of different songs. Well done to the prefects for organising this – we'll look forward to the next one!
