On 11 September 204, some Year 13 Sixth Form students and staff undertook CPR training with Essex Air Ambulance, as part of their CPR Smart Champion programme which empowers teachers and students to be able to save lives. Every year, over 30,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occur in the UK, with survival rates under 10%. The importance of timely CPR is critical: every minute without intervention reduces the chance of survival by 10%.
We at Notley High School and Braintree Sixth form will now be using these skills to train every student and member of staff, through out Year 13 CPR Champions to become a CPR Smart school.
