On Monday 17 March 25 Geography students from Year 12 and 13 travelled to the field studies centre in Snowdonia National Park for a week to undertake fieldwork in preparation for their upcoming exams.

On Tuesday students went to Criccieth, a small coastal town in Cardigan Bay, to collect data for analysis for their Geographical skills paper which makes up 25% of their overall exam grade. Wednesday saw students head into the mountains to look at the stunning post glacial environment within the National Parks. Pupils followed the path at Cwm Idwal for amazing views of the Tarn Lake and the U shaped valleys. On Thursday students visited two villages to broaden their case study knowledge, studying both rural decline and the impacts of tourism in rural areas.

Students worked hard but also enjoyed the facilities at the field centre during their free time and the excellent food served every day. Despite the strong winds and some rain, everyone had a good time.

A big thank you to Mr Wishart and Mr Williams for accompanying Ms Wilcox and the students on the field trip.
