Two former Braintree Sixth Form students, Natacha Maurin and Sam Newman, came back to Braintree Sixth Form on 7 January 2020, to take an assembly on university life, UCAS applications and applications to Oxbridge in particular.

Currently in their second year at the University of Cambridge, Natacha and Sam are respectively studying History and Spanish and Chemical Engineering at different colleges, and they gave an honest, detailed and thoughtful overview of the highs and lows of their application and interview experiences, the sorts of things students can do to prepare themselves for a competitive application, student life at Oxbridge and some considerations for all students who are looking ahead and weighing up their options.

We thank both of them for giving their time in their vacations and for the support they have offered to students from Braintree Sixth Form. Their talk provoked a lot of thought for our current students.
