On Thursday 6 February 2020 Ken Coe, a member of the cleaning team at Notley High School & Braintree Sixth Form, was awarded a ‘Highly Commended’ award in the category of Non-Teaching Staff Member of the Year at the annual Essex Teaching Awards.

Held at Hylands House, the Essex Teaching Awards are an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the inspirational work that takes place in Essex schools.

Mr Coe had been nominated by the school for his loyal service over the last 10 years, in which he has never had a day’s sickness. Mr Coe takes pride in his work and he is a respected member of the school community. In his work he interacts with students on a daily basis, encouraging them to take pride in their school and to respect the school environment.
