On Wednesday 28 June, a group of Year 12 students travelled to the University of Essex to learn more about the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) process, as well as being given the opportunity to ask the ambassadors any questions.
We were first split into groups and we were then given guided tours of the campus and told of the every day life of a University of Essex student. Once our tour had finished, we were taken to a classroom, where we were taught valuable skills such as research methods and how to best develop a research question for an EPQ. We were lucky enough to have also been offered a “Student Panel” session; an opportunity for us to ask any questions regarding either the EPQ or University life itself.
All in all, it was a very informative day. Thank you to the University and their ambassadors for making the day enjoyable, and thank you to the sixth form staff for organising the trip. We will most definitely be looking back on the trip with gratitude as we begin our EPQ’s in the coming months.
