The UK’s first national peer-to-peer coaching network for GCSE and National students.

It’s a bold new campaign which explores exam stress via 12 student coaches who have been there and done it, including one of our very own Year 12 students, Megan Amos.

Targeting secondary school students across the UK who are about to embark on their own exam journey, The Mind Set will provide support and trusted advice from peers who share common ground across a range of issues students face during this challenging time.

Brand new webpages will host 12 films as well as tips and tricks from The Mind Set coaches. The coaches will also join forces with Radio 1’s Live Surgery and share their experiences and advice to listeners who may be impacted by some of the topics covered throughout the campaign.

Sinead Rocks, Head of BBC Learning said: “The Mind Set puts students who have experienced the challenges faced in one of the most stressful periods of a young person’s life at the forefront, by sharing their stories with those who are about to travel the same path. We want this campaign to change perceptions of how students approach and deal with the stress of exam periods by highlighting the tips, advice and support networks available to them.”

BBC Learning’s The Mind Set is working in partnership with Childline, Young Minds and the National Citizen Service to provide a broad range of expert support and advice for children and young people at exam time, preparing to take exams and dealing with exam pressure.

The Mind Set Team

We have all persevered through our GCSEs or Nationals - and have come out the other side!

We’re from all sorts of backgrounds and from all corners of the UK, and we’re not all A* students either. Some of us did resits, others battled against illness or family difficulties during their exams. But the one thing we all have in common is that we found a way to reach our individual potential and we want to help you do the same.
