On Friday 5 December a small number of students had the opportunity to attend the live broadcast of the BBC Radio 4 topical discussion programme Any Questions? held at Felsted School.
The format of the programme was a panel discussion in response to questions from the audience, chaired by Jonathan Dimbleby, BBC broadcaster. The panel also consisted of Rachel Reeves (Economist and Labour politician), Mark Serwotka (General Secretary of the Public and Commercial Services Union), Eric Pickles (Conservative Party politician and Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government) and Mark Littlewood (Director General of the Institute of Economic Affairs).
Students commented:
“I found it very interesting; there were lots of relevant political points raised. It opened my eyes to both sides of the arguments rather than being biased. I was impressed by how they all stuck to their ideas.” Emma Temple, Year 13
“I really enjoyed it, it was interesting to see how the programme was organised, and there were some really good questions asked.” Jack Wade, Year 13
