Excellent progression
Braintree Sixth Form has an excellent progression record. The vast majority of students progress on to Higher or Further Education. Students receive supervision and guidance from a member of staff who leads on student destinations alongside their tutors, who assist with all applications, for university places, apprenticeships and training, or the workplace.
Each year a number of students secure places on the most selective courses. In 2020. these have included places on medicine courses and highly selective degree apprenticeships. Support and guidance is provided to students making competitive applications, such as for Medicine, Dentistry and Oxbridge. The vast majority of students have gained places on their first choice courses at first choice institutions in the last 3 years.
Other progression routes have included apprenticeships in areas such as accounting, business and media, army and navy placements, art foundation courses and study overseas.
